Here is a list of what I want potential faeries to do at an audition:
Prepared material:
- Tell a story. Potential faeries should be able to
tell a short story,
preferably a fairy tale. I will accept any historical
or fantasy tale;
fables are acceptable, too. I don't want a memorized
script, I want the
potential faerie to tell the story in her/his own
words.
- Sing a song A cappella. Something as simple as
"Mary had a little lamb" or "Row row row your boat" or as complicated as a
madrigal. I just want to
see enthusiasm and an ability to carry a tune. Musical
genius is a plus, but
not a requirement.
- Talent show. I want to know if the potential faerie
has a special skill
related to performance. Some "special skills" I would
like to see include:
- Juggling
- Acrobatics
- Foreign language or strong accents
- Ability to play an instrument (especially one we can
play at Faires.)
- Sleight of hand magic
- "Geek" acts: Sideshow tricks
